Sheet Profile Company is an agricultural machinery manufacturing and engineering company with a strong heritage of innovation, fabrication and research-driven product development.
Established in 1984, the company evolved from the wider business group founded by Sri Prakash Chandra Sahu, whose business journey in Odisha began in 1975.
Over the years, Sheet Profile Company has transformed from a general fabrication and manufacturing enterprise into a specialized developer and manufacturer of agricultural machinery.
Our Journey of Innovation
In 1996, Mr. Prabhat Ranjan Sahu joined the family business and expanded its activities into tractor trailers, water tankers, automobile bus body building and agricultural implements. In 1998, the company introduced the first tipping trolley in Odisha.
From 2004 onwards, the company increasingly focused on advanced agricultural machinery, introducing implements such as cultivators, rotavators and axial-flow paddy threshers to support mechanized farming.
In 2006, Sheet Profile Company became the first company in Odisha to manufacture a power-operated maize sheller following research into maize shelling technology and collaboration involving IIT Bhubaneswar and the Department of Agriculture, Government of Odisha.
Research & Development
Turning Agricultural Research into Practical Machinery
Since 2015, Sheet Profile Company has worked closely with OUAT, Bhubaneswar to develop agricultural machinery suitable for small and marginal farmers.
This collaboration has resulted in the development of a wide range of innovative agricultural machines and has contributed to several academic and research projects under different agricultural engineering programmes.
The company has been involved in the development of approximately 30 agricultural machines under various All India Coordinated Research Projects and RKVY projects.
These activities have included:

Millet Mechanization
Our Contribution to Millet Farming
Following the launch of the Odisha Millet Mission in 2017, Sheet Profile Company placed special emphasis on the development of machinery for millet cultivation and processing.
In collaboration with OUAT, the company worked on threshers and seed drills for:
- Finger Millet / Ragi
- Little Millet
- Pearl Millet
- Barnyard Millet
- Sorghum
- Foxtail Millet
These efforts formed part of a broader drive toward small-farm mechanization for millet cultivation.
OUAT Ragi Thresher Cum Pearler
One of the company’s important technology commercialization achievements is the OUAT Ragi Thresher Cum Pearler.
In 2018, Sheet Profile Company received a Non-Exclusive License for commercial production of the OUAT Ragi Thresher Cum Pearler, Patent No. 409589. Approximately 1,500 units have subsequently reached small and marginal millet growers across 19 districts of Odisha.
The machine combines threshing and pearling operations into an integrated process. Its technical concept includes a dual threshing drum, integrated pearling system and blower-based separation of husk from cleaned ragi.
This type of integrated mechanization is designed to reduce manual processing effort while improving the efficiency and quality of millet processing.

Our manufacturing facility has approximately 4,000 sq. metres of plant area, including around 1,300 sq. metres of covered manufacturing space.
